Great studio, I went there several years ago and had Lori Love as an instructor she was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable, I went there again yesterday, good news, Ms. Love still loves what she does. she has a way of making everyone feel good about there practice. Truly a humble soul making the world a better place. If your in New Haven stop by you will not be disappointed. PS I'm 57 years old and have been doing yoga all over the world since the 80's this studio and Ms. Love are stand outs. Peace
Great studio and welcoming to ALL levels of yoga. I brought a friend there recently who had never done yoga in her life! The class was a challenge but everyone in the class, including the instructor, made her feel so loved and welcomed. It was so encouraging to her - she now LOVES yoga and wants to continue doing it. I personally practice yoga regularly on my own but just love going to this studio - your never judged on how good you can do a pose, and you don't get that "stuffy" feeling you might get at other studios. It is worth the investment and time to check out balanced yoga studio! You will not regret it!
This was my first time doing yoga and not being the most flexible person, I did not know how much I would like it. The classes and instructors are amazing. They never push you out of your comfort zone and always tell you that you are welcome to take a break at any time if it gets too hot or strenuous. However, they are extremely encouraging for you to go to the next level and test your boundaries. They always ask if there is anyone new to the class so they know who is completely new and will correct your technique so you don't hurt yourself. They are hands on if you are welcome to that, but always ask you first because they respect your body and what you are and are not willing to do. I originally signed up for the 1 week intro then ended up signing up for the month. There is always a range of abilities within each class, so you have the chance to learn from the people around you, but at the same time never feel like you don't belong. There is also a range of ages as well as both men and women who attend at each class. The facility itself is very clean in the dressing rooms, waiting area, and studio. I would continue practicing with them, however I got a new job in the Danbury area which is the opposite direction of my old job in new haven. Overall this was a great experience
Shocked to see only 16 reviews for this studio. I have traveled to Kodiak Alaska, Petaluma, CA, St. Louis, Tokyo, Nome, Honolulu, and points afar. None of the studios came remotely close to this. Maybe it was the home studio. But, no, it wasn't. I still remember names. Lori? Barry? Maybe I'm mixing up my yogis. This studio was hot for me back when Dice I'ida Klein was just getting started on Yogaglo. Balanced was serious. Packed. The flows never repeated. I was doing handstand vinyasas and cooling off in mid-winter temperatures outside after. Maybe things have changed in the years since, but I doubt it. Inertia works that way. I remember the owner saying she took out loans from her parents, instead of getting higher ed tuition. Lore. Whatever the case. I was expecting 1600 reviews, not 16. Well, here's the 17th. Still searching for a Balanced, who knows how many thousands spent on classes since. And I think the monthly rate was killer, too.
I don’t live in Connecticut but that doesn’t stop me from practicing with these beauties! Their online zoom classes are amazing. Lori and the crew are truly inspiring teachers, you will never be bored in their class!
